Manchester United have revealed that they have reached an agreement with Benfica for centre-back Victor Lindelof.
The English giants confirmed the news on their official twitter account late Saturday night but failed to disclose the exact amount agreed upon for the move, which reputable sources claim is in the region of £35m with some additional incentives and bonuses.
For the deal to be finalised, the 22-year-old has to undergo a medical examination, successfully go through international clearance, and agree to some personal terms to complete his move to Old Trafford, where the Swede will become boss Jose Mourinho’s first major signing for the summer.
Lindelof was integral to the Primeira Liga’s success in the recently concluded season, and will undoubtedly help to bolster the Special One’s defense as the team prepares for a busy campaign which will feature both Premier League and Champions League action.
