Charlie Austin managed to escape a red card against Huddersfield despite appearing to kick Jonas Lossl in the face.
The Huddersfield goalkeeper rushed off his line to stop Austin getting to the ball, but the striker left a bit on Lossl. The clash drew blood from Lossl’s face and opened up a nasty cut, but Austin was not even issued a yellow card for the dangerous play. Football fans were stunned by the refereeing and could not understand how Austin was not given his marching orders.
-Charlie Austin looks to have ample time to pull out of that one and he just leaves his foot in there knowing he’s going to make contact, Danny Mills said.
The FA could look at the incident again, although Lee Probert did seem to acknowledge the incident and decided Austin did not need to be sent off.
